Exodus 12:23-25

23 For the Lord will pass by to smite the Egyptians: and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel and on the two door cheeks, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the [a]destroyer to come into your houses to plague you.
24 Therefore shall ye observe this thing as an ordinance, both for thee and thy sons forever.
25 And when ye shall come into the [b]land, which the Lord will give you, as he hath promised, then ye shall keep this [c]service.
